Chrome Jr. Gent 1 with Maple, Blackwood or Ebony, and curly Koa
Black Ti Click with Osage Orange & Unknown burl
Black Ti/Rhodium Sierra with "Sunset" blank: Osage Orange, Flame Box Elder, Unknown & Padauk
Rhodium Click with "3 Maple" blank: Spalted Maple, Stabilized curly Maple, & Maple Burl.

A segmented Helix Rollerball
A postable Helix Rollerball plated in Rhod./22K Gold. The main bodies are turned from Yellow Birch Burl. Segmenting is done with 1/8" flat aluminum bar and exotics acrylic named Amadeo blue!
Does anyone recognize the Helix by any other name?

Two More
Here are a couple more I finished this week.
First is Aspen Burl with blue lapis and aluminum spacers. I hadn't worked with lapis before, and blew out the end. When I glued the piece back together with some shavings to fill it in the CA smoked up like it wanted to catch fire. Pretty interesting.
The second is bubinga with maple. No spacers on this one.
Enjoy.

First Segemented Set
This is my second attempt at segmenting and the first time with a pen and pencil set. Just a simple slimline set. The dark wood is Sapele and light color is unknown. Finished with 10 coats of CA.

Executive pen, random segments
Random segmented (following the tutorial in the library), using (in mainly alphabetical order): Cherry, maple, purpleheart, red veneer, walnut, and yellowheart.

Here is a Curly Maple and Scallops on Rhodium Jr. Gent Hardware.
Segmented cigar pen
Here is how my segmented cigar pen turned out.It has curly maple in between 2 pieces of a mystery wood.It's brown wood,with these neat looking wide black striped markings.
It really changes when you move it in the light.

Panache pen with Ebony ends
I ended up with a Pancahe pen kit with 2 large base caps.I wanted to use it up,and thought I'd make it work with both ends the same.
It was harder than I thought.....the tubes are different that the caps fit into..So the capped end has a short section of the small diam.tube in the ebony,then the fatter tube in the wood.The wood is a mystery,it sounds like it might be mahogany?
It was a fun challenge.
I jazzed it up by segmenting these pieces of ebony on the ends.It looks nice here on my desk.I actually like writin' with these pens.

One has a piece of Ebony sandwiched between the two strips,then curly Maple on the sides.
The other one has Walnut in the middle.
These were fun to make,and I learned some lessons that I hope I can improve upon on future pens.

1st Segmenting Practice Pen
I was tring a few different techniques just to put some learning' on. Not perfect but it feels good in my hand.
Wavy oak ... Walnut .... Rosewood .... Aluminum ... CA .... Slimline .... No band.
I'll do better next time. I promise you!

Ebony & Striped Ebony Pen and Pencil Set
.... with a little segmenting thrown in for the group.
Based on a slimline kit, I removed the center band and created a raised band that is contiguous with the black-hole ebony lower portion. They are finished with CA and BLO.
These are pens #4 and #5 for me. I am learning at every turn! (haha)

Guitar wood pens
I finished up this pair of Sierra Elegant pens today,that I used this already-segmented wood from scraps of guitar necks.
I cut them at an angle to get the swoops,and tried hard to get the swoops centered the same on the top,as the bottom of the pen.
Woods are Walnut/Maple, and Koa/Maple.
They might look easy,but man I tell ya,it's pretty hard to get one to turn out right.When they do,it's a great feeling!
I've done about 5 other pen kits using these scraps,but these are my first using the Sierra Elegant kits.

My first Celtic knot
First I'd like to say, Beautiful pens...all of them. This is the first segmented pen I made. It needs a little more work but I thought it wasn't too bad.
