This tree hasn't been around a long time, but it was a gift to my biological mother and her husband when they moved into their current home. We've called it the "Sibling Tree" as it was gifted to them from myself and my 2 sisters. (Yes, there is a great, but long story about the adoption and reunion). Anyway, what was a bottlebrush bush ended up being a bottlebrush tree. They were concerned about the roots since it was right next to the line to the septic tank, so they took it down. A couple years of drying and these are the resulting pens for the family to pick from. We're heading down to visit them next week.
It's not particularly pretty wood, but definitely has sentimental value. There were some interesting, but subtle shades of orange, red, and brown. The pieces with any figuring or visual interest from the main crotch were not meant to be without hybridizing them, which I don't have the means to do yet.
FYI: bottlebrush tree is stinky if there is much moisture in it. Also, it's pretty hard and takes a very long time to dry.
