I'm hoping someone who reads this might have a contact or other information about this Battle Ship. I'm in the process of gathering Teak from as many WWII ships that are still around and have museums. My goal is to turn pens out of each piece to create my own type of "Battle Ship row". To date I've gotten pieces of the Iowa, California and New Jersey. I've contacted the Texas via email without any response back. I know they have items they will give to you for a donation but I don't need anymore guns or a paperweight. I'm looking at getting a piece 3/4" square by 6" long. Not big, just something I can turn into a nice pen. Thanks for any help anyone can offer.- Tom

I would contact Texas Parks & Wildlife again or the Battleship Texas Foundation as they are preparing to move her to a new location. I know that's not what you were wanting but it's all I have right now.

All that I've read and heard about the move is up the coast to a spot more visitor/tourist friendly.

The last time I was there. . .

Thank you very much for this post. What you've got here is a facebook page when I click on the "Historical Wood Blanks & More". Do you have any more info as I'm not a big user of facebook and really don't understand it (this might change later). Do you have an email address for the seller shown in the post? Thanks again. Go Navy!

Tom, I just found the name and Facebook page of the person linked in the info above AND I saw some awesome pens turned from USS Texas blanks. I've left him a message and will let you know what I find out.
