I have seen these advertised before and always wanted to try my hand at one. I use to make something similar but not as complexed. Now I know who is making them. Thanks for the video.
 
This is a fine example of two things: craftsmanship and creating an employment economy. It appears that each step in the process involves a different craftsman. In the western world, I'd venture to say, a plethora of CNC machines would likely be employed for the entire process.
 
They are skilled for sure, but that skill come through experience, daily and long hours. As a kid, I knew skilled carpenters and cabinet makers who could measure within a 16th of an inch on a 3ft board without a rule, (but they did check). Again, long hours 6 days a week 52 weeks a year on lots of repetitive measurements and cuts.

We don't work that way today in the industrialized and academic world. But we do have great thinkers who can create the next great advancement in CNC and etc!
 
Already been said, but WOW.
And the crude tools are incredible. I have seen some videos similar, but not with such complex results.
