I have the PSI Pen Assembly/Disassembly press and have used it for disassembly; however, I have better luck using another PSI tool, their "Soft Jaw Gripper" held in my bench vise and the PSI "Pen Disassembly Punch Set". In my opinion it is faster than converting the pen press for disassembly, and I think the short blows with a hammer are more effective than the constant pressure from the press. I use a plastic hard/soft faced hammer to keep from mushrooming the punches when I use them.

I pretty much just use punches and a hammer.
