Preferred blank material

With acrylic blanks weighing slightly more than wood is it an acceptable material to use on a Cambridge/Sedona/Baron fountain pen?

Sure, but paint the inside of the blank (and let it dry/cure) before gluing in the tubes.

I have used acrylic on all three of these kits and weight is not a problem because the wall thickness is thin.

I notice almost no difference whatsoever in total weight with various blank materials on the overall finished pen. I would think it would be more pronounced with a solid metal material, such as a rebar blank.
