Here is one of those out of the blue questions. But I am looking for a permanent marker in black. I know there are markers that claim to be permanent but actually rub off easily with Sharpie being one of them. Can someone suggest one that they know from experience works. It has to be at least a fine point or wider. Do not want any of those real fine writers. Like I said I have the sharpie fine point and it rubs off easily. Thanks.

We were using Sharpie "Industrial" version that's better than the ones from the consumer stores... we've since switched to Fisher Scientific (I think) in the lab. Not cheap though, but once set they're pretty tough.

Edit -
Yep, it's from Fisher - these are what we're using now: http://www.fishersci.com/ecomm/servlet/fsproductdetail_10652_4285723__-1_0
They're alcohol and Xylene resistant (not proof but about as close you can get).

Anybody ever try sealing with Mod Podge? I have been using the Sharpie ''Brush",to dye curly maple, and only the hot pinkish/violet one turns out good. The other colors all turn a dark maroon color as soon as CA hits them.

I tried spraying the Krylon Fixitif on them, but still does it.So I was wondering about the Mod Podge, since it works so well protecting stamps from ca.
