peter

don't know any in Canada Peter....
William Wood-Write Ltd. carry some pen parts but I don't think what you're looking for.
Another good source for parts (in US) is
Pen Kits - WoodTurningz
I've used botht he above & had great service from them
I'm sure others will suggest a few more

Peter,

Call John at WoodChuckers (Toronto). Although his website doesn't mention it he is a reseller of Penn State pen kits. If Penn State sell it, John can deliver. Here is his website Woodchuckers.com - Supplying Canada with Solid Woods, Woodturning Supplies & Finishes for over 20 years.

Wade

Thanks, will give them a call tomorrow.

I am trying to buy all my kits supplies etc in Canada, I do also buy from woodturningz from time to time, but the cost of shipping from our friends in U S took quite a jump.

Cheers

Peter

Hi Wade; For your info, John has sold Woodchuckers to a gentleman by the name of Peter Steenwyk who also owns a company called Artistic Woods. The businesses have been consolidated at 1 location very near to LV's Scarboro location! 50 Venture Drive, Unit 4.
Same 800 551 0192 tel #.

John may come to work on a Fri. or Sat. (may being the operative word)

Hate to say this, but just got off the phone with someone at woodchuckers, did not seem to be very knowledgeable, when I asked about center bands for comfort pens he asked "what are they and what do they look like" maybe a new employee, or I may not have explained what I was looking for more clearly.

cheers

Peter

Hmmm... yes, I think they do have some new employees. I can understand how you feel right now, but give them a call a bit later. Peter and John do still come in, and both are extremely knowledgeable. They are a great team and it's well worth getting to know that store. Good luck.

Mack,

Thanks for the update. Its too bad John has sold the business, he was an interesting guy to stop in and talk to.

Wade

Peter did you try William Wood-Write 1-877-585-0403 or www.penblanks.ca they're located in Ontario? I usually buy most of what I need from him, they have a great selection of kits, blanks and some parts. And as Wade has mentioned, you could try Woodchuckers, they're a canadian retailer for anything Penn State sells.

I agree its just too bad he sold. I would make the trek all the way in etobicoke when he had his shop over there.

John did not sell, I was told he is changing to partial retirement. Woodchuckers has merged with Artistic woods and moved into a new building. John is still active in the business, but he is not there full time any more.
I still see both John and Peter at our TWG meetings each month. They are working together selling the combined products.

Hi Brad; Just to belabour the point whether John sold or John didn't sell, here's an excerpt taken directly from the Woodchuckers site!
"After 19 years of running Woodchucker's Supplies; John Buccioni has passed the Brand on to Marc and Peter. John will stay working in sales until his wanderlust for travel takes him away to some vineyard in Italy. Marc and peter hope to build Woodchuckers.com into a major Canadian woodturning and wood hobby providerom the Woodchuckers site!"
