I have always admired wood rings, (but worry of future cracking due to usage, moisture, water exposure, etc). Your's is superb. 👏 👏 👏
 
Very nice! I love that you made a custom box as well. Curious how you did the felt inserts for holding the ring. I've been playing around with custom pen box ideas, and have been mulling over how to do that for a custom pen holder inside the boxes. Have not yet figured out a way that I really like, with regards to holdign the pen nicely and still looking good.
 
I haven't turned any rings nor do I wish to. However, that turned out beautifully ! I've turned a number of items using tulip wood. It's a great looking wood. It was a great choice using it for the ring. Most excellent work !

Thank you. For the felt liner I took 2 pieces of dense craft foam and wrapped the felt around it. A couple dots of hot glue to hold it in place. It's not glued into the box, just resting in it. For pen boxes I've seen flocking used, I haven't made any myself yet.
