New Lathe Day !!!

Today, my new metal lathe was delivered. It is a Precision Matthews, PM-1022V.

I'm excited to get it uncrated, but first I need to evaluate the shop, my workflow and where the best location for it will be. Then I need to work through: 1) what will I put it on, and 2) how will I do this. The shipping weight of this little beastie is 473 lbs.

You made a great choice going with the PM lathe, I have the PM 1340GT and their customer service is the best in the business.

ooooohhhhhh. aaaaahhhhhh. Great decision! Moving it around - maybe a rented engine hoist? I've been considering purchase of a metal lathe as well as I go deeper into custom pens, but so far I've chickened out. I wish you all the best with this - let us know as you move through getting used to it.
