Very nice, as always, Bob.

LOML gave me a chuck for my bday last month, so I am hoping some small bowls are in my turning future.

I would like a little clarification on "It's from a pear tree". There are quite a few Pyrus species and was wondering which this is from?:bulgy-eyes: (just kidding).

Have a great day!

Hi Dave, I dunno mate, I thought you were going to say something about a "partridge".

The wood came from my mate, Robutacion, and he calls it an Australian Pear tree. ???????????????????????

Bob.

Hi Dave,

What Bob said is correct, I never attempted to identify this particular Pear tree, the tree itself was no doubt a pear tree, and the best I can offer you is the information that I posted when I cut it, here

From here, you may be able to satisfy your curiosity, and maybe not, this is all I can offer you...!

Cheers
George

Australian pear will do!

I have some Bradford Pear drying in my garage. Will most likely use it to practice on since I think it is going to be relatively plain looking once I get into it.

Dave, sorry I forgot to congratulate you on your Birthday present. I will be waiting with baited breath to see some bowls.

Cheers, Bob.

I am waiting patiently to give it a try. We have been "cleaning up" the basement for over a month now. Which means my lathe has been buried for about 5 weeks. I have one wall that needs painted (hopefully tonight) and then we can start putting stuff back. So hopefully another week or 2 and I can turn again.

Was helping my 5th grader study over the weekend. They are learning about your great country. I made sure to point out where you and a few other IAP folks are from.
