I followed this video. You twist the nib to operate. Once you watch the video you kinda get a oh why didn't I think of that moment. I did have to purchase a longer 7mm Fisch Pen Bit so could drill on the lathe without flipping it around and drilling from both sides.

I wrote two articles on making the one piece slimline 10 yrs ago. One was how it's done and the other outlines some improvements.

I forgot to look at what the sticker said it was before turning it. I just wanted to turn something =) and even forgot to paint my blank and tubes. And now I can't wait to go try the new tool rest I got from Rick.
