Mesquite Trimline

Hi, all -

Made this pen for my brother who lives in Texas hill country. About 25 years ago (when we were in SETX) a buddy of mine at work hooked me up with a stack of mesquite from his dad in Del Rio. Presumably for smoking, I've been hoarding it for small projects ever since. I figured some Texas mesquite for my Texan brother would be appropriate. Gunmetal Trimline; tung oil, friction polish, and wax finish. Gotta say, I'm not super impressed with the Trimline kit, but happy with how this turned out.

Have one more pen I'd like to finish in the near term, then I've really got to give some attention to other projects!

Nice pen. I like the red mesquite. Most of what I cut ends up turning brown. Although the Mesquite Tree isn't a pretty tree its wood has some nice uses. Well done.
