Seventeen(17) days everyone!

Not sure the RingMaster is going to make it. It's not the lightest unit, and I really can't lift it(well I can, I just shouldn't with a herniation of a disc).

I'll be sure to bring a few cameras, and give anyone that wants/needs some quick instruction during the meeting about some of the 'other settings'. I'd even suggest that others bring theirs and I can give some quick tips(and maybe learn one or two also).

I have some stuff for 'show-n-tell', as well as a few 'things' to door prize!!!!

Scott (next appt for me is the 7th - specialist time) B

Flying by...

Looks like time is flying by very quickly...gonna bring 2 or 3 things for show & tell.& think I read we doing a PITH?:hammer:

Looking forward to the camera help! Hope you are up to that. Bring a chair with a cushion! Prayers for your healing.
Freddie

Close!

Well, it is closer than it has ever been so far.......the 19th has been on me calendar for a while...this week I have double checked with the wife informed son that I can't work on his shop Saturday, have 2 or 3 bowls to show (it is show & tell isn't it?) a few pens to showcase & looking forward to learning how to go KITLESS! Just need to find something for the PITH!!:)

Ok . . . . . . OK!! I'll start cleaning the garag . . . . . . I mean shop . . . . . No, I really mean studio.

Who am I kidding. It's a garage.

And Phillip, it's always show and tell. And if you recently got any cool tools, bring them along too.

See everybody Saturday.

I have an old bed frame if that will help. :)

I'm looking forward to it. I should have a bowl done that is a little different than many bowls you may have seen.

I will also have at least 10 Alumilite pen blanks to give away.

My wife and daughter will be with me as well. My daughter can brag about how she is the best pen blank maker in the family.

I'm going to be there and I am bringing two or maybe three people. Actually my friend Randall is going to drive down so he can get some stuff done after the meeting so I guess I'm bringing one maybe two people. Becky said she would make a banana pudding for me to take. Looking forward to seeing everybody. Ted:)

Saturday!

Well, I ain't seen Ol' Randall since the meeting over a year ago @ the river!
Found Mississippi Street today so maybe I can find ya'll with no problem Saturday! :rotfl::rotfl::laugh:

Woohoo!!!!

Just have to wake up one more time, load the car, drive to Little Rock, take everything out of the car, get stuff set-up, curse myself twenty times for forgetting something, figure out if I can do without, and then have fun!

Scott (for a hotdog, I'll do quite a lot) B

Rain is out of the forecast, and it looks like it might hit 60. Much better than was expected last week. Looks like I might have to get more hot dogs. But that's a good thing.

GREAT MEETING

Just wanted to thank Bob for hosting the meeting today at his shop. Was really good to see everyone. Always good to meet new members. Had a good time and on top of that got a hotdog. Don't get much better than that. Looking forward to next time. Ted:)

Thanks Bob!

Thanks to Bob for hosting a well attended & informative meeting! You were a very gracious host! Thanks for opening up your home & grill the dogs for lunch! It was nice to see old acquaintances, meet new members & networking is always a great way to learn! The PITH was fun & I got a great pen from dlgWoodwork...by the way...check out his site, there is some interesting stuff on there! (Neat sign!) So around June 18th we are going to meet where?

Thanks to Bob for hosting and thank you to everyone who came out. I wish I would have been able to stay all day. I also wish I would have had a chance to talk with everyone. I had a great time.

The work on the table in the house was great and I wish I could have looked at it more and talked with who made it all.

I hope all the alumilite blanks found a good home. Please post pics when you get them turned.

Just a follow-up on the meeting. I think we had 17 or 18 people show up. I'm pretty sure that's a new record for us. We should know within the next few weeks where the next meeting will be. But it's scheduled for the 18th of June. Keep watching this sub forum for the new meeting thread.

David, I forgot to show you the cutting board material I use for custom flat molds. Next time Im in NLR, I'll go by and get the measurements & let you know. then if you want one, I could bring you one (or more) to the next meeting.

Hey Bob

Wanted to thank you, for hosting the meeting. Brenda and I had a great time. We learned a few things and the fellowship was great.

I posted up some photo's on Facebook of the meeting. I think in three different groups!

>one spot<
>another place<
>another place<

Wasn't able to start the video editing until this morning(had a friend come over to fix my gate into the backyard since I cannot lift the panels anymore).
It's been 'working' on the computer in the back room....probably another two hours worth of post, and then I can arrange and upload to YouTube. I'll put the link for the video somewhere on this topic, and a couple of FB pages....I'm not going to kid ya, it'll take awhile to get the video uploaded on the Tube.

As for the meeting!

* Thank you Bob for allowing the masses to swoop in and have some time together! Nice to see the floor in your shop

* Thanks to those that brought those fine turned items that were on display! Great segmenting, turning, and that 'award winning worm-ate piece'-WOW!

* The beginner/intro to kitless was very informative. And I'm pretty sure Bob did a group emailing with all the links(I received two emails).

* RingMaster was fun, I might actually need to blow the dust off of it more often. It was even more fun to cut the rings and give the 'piece away' for maybe a future show-n-tell(or demo for finishing, you just never know).

* Camera talking was fun, if anyone has any question(feel free to message me). I might have some spare time after my upcoming surgery to give out some one-on-one tutorial kind of stuff. Might have to do a video tutorial, something on a slide show type(it was hard to let everyone see the back of a camera-I'll work that issue for a future meeting)

* The PITH as always was very fun! I ended up getting a great pen from Teddy....awesome just doesn't say enough about that one! Forgive me, I do not know the maker of the pen my wife received, but she loves it too!

* FOOD....does anything go better in a large group of folks more then hotdogs? I know hotdogs aren't really good for my expanding waistline, but I can eat a bunch, and these were great!

* Also want to thank everyone for their generosity in both give-a-ways and their time to attend. I believe Bob stated it was a new record number?!?!?!(anyone that was new, please get ahold of Bob so he can get you on the roster for future updates)

Scott (stay tuned for the very long video) B
