This link is the basis of what we are and what we do here and it is the introduction to a forum that has grown in leaps and bounds over the past 20+ years. Many talented turners have passed through here sharing their passion and wisdom with so many others. Along with them many strong willing and dedicated people have stepped up to expand the realm of this forum by adding informative platforms such as our library which contains mountains of valuable info regarding just about every aspect of the art of penmaking. With this our forum lists have grown to help new members as well as old veterans navigate certain aspects of the art easier. This has helped greatly. Also to include the photos weather in galleries or just scattered throughout the countless pages of this forum that help with examples and instructions and just plain eye candy. These feed the drive and desire to accomplish greatness and also share the ride of where we are and where we want to go. Then there is the great collection of members from all parts of the world sharing in this same idea that was afforded us by a few forward thinking people who many still remain and work behind the scenes. It is the members here that truely are the catalyst of what makes this place a comfortable and enjoyable place to visit.

With this all being said I believe it is time for the owner and founder of this great site to step forward and give us sort of a State of The Union address of his thoughts as we start a brand new year. I know he has been busy with life and personal things but hope he can find a few minutes and words to show us and encourage us to continue on and maybe mention a few new ideas or plans he maybe working on for the site. As we look around us all we see many devastating events happening and it is eye opening. But there are times that we need that small outlet to step away from all that and feel safe. This is one of those places. Happy New Year!

Jeff Brown please step up to the podium. :)đź‘Źđź‘Źđź‘Ź

I saw this earlier, but today was one of those days. Heading back to work tomorrow and had to wrap up a few projects off the honey-do list that I promised would be done in 2022. Yeah, I'm a little behind schedule.

Thanks for the kind words JT. I will take this opportunity to point out that this is a community built by its members and the hard work of moderators, contest organizers, cheerleaders, and countless others over our 21 years. We are on the verge of 2 million posts and 57,000 photos, definitely a huge resource for the penturning world.

I do have some things in the queue for the forum. We will be doing a software upgrade sometime in the Spring, new features, better security, with mostly the same look and feel. Personally, I'm hoping to retire this year. 100% of my close friends are retired, and I'm tired of missing out on all the activities while I'm stuck in the office. I'll have 42 years this summer. That's probably enough!

Thank You Jeff and all the others for keeping this going. I've learned a lot and have made some good friends here. You'll love retirement. Life goes on such as bills and other issues but the stress of a regular job are gone. At least in my case. Anyway Thanks again and I wish you well in achieving your goals.

Jeff and IAP yes. I love this place. It's everything a hobby guy can want. It's all about sharing. I learned a ton. It is quality. It's is fun. Members here rub each other right.

Thanks for taking a few minutes to address us and give us an insight as to what we can look forward to as we enter this new year. As for your retirement, you will be happy in so many ways. It is always amazing how much time we put into our employment years and so little time when we finally get to enjoy the fruits of our labor. But I wish you well as you get closer to this enjoyable time. As others have said also would like to thank you for continuing of this great site and to all those that contribute in ways that probably get unnoticed. A great place to hang out and share a hobby that is rewarding in many ways.
