Two Bloodwoods and one Yellowheart. One is a fat daddy, which I do not like. I really need to keep the girth down on these, that's what I learned. Have several left to try.

I read it CAN amber a bit but not a lot. I have never seen it before but got a couple in an order. I really liked working with it.
Also called Pau Amarello
I've been tempted to pick some up. I like the subtlety of the color. I do like the "colored" woods, purpleheart, yellowheart, bloodwood, ....

Looking good. The girth isn't terrible on that one. It's amazing how what looks like a small curve on the lathe becomes a huge bulge on the pen. I use a credit card edge to get a straight side, but I guess you could do that just to determine the bow and where the high spots are, too.

I had the same feeling with mine. I was afraid the clip would break it was so thick.

I'm a fan of the yellow heart , just proportions look right to my eyes . Doesn't look like a lot in it but the lower joints on the second bloodwood looks great but not on the first one , to me anyway .

Nice work and good finish to them too
