Big Tex's Dickies Catch Fire

Well, it finally happend. Big Tex, the mascot of the Texas State Fair, burned to his boots today. I understand his Dickies caught fire.

I know there is a joke there!

That sucks, I remember seeing that when we used to go there when I was younger. Hopefully they'll rebuild him.

According to the State Fair folks and Dickies folks, they will indeed rebuild him for the next State Fair. They aren't sure yet, but they think it was an electrical problem that started it. I think I can safely say that all Texans will mourn this day; Big Tex was as old as I am.

Maybe it will become an annual event. the anti burning man. Instead of being a freak show maybe a mix of cowboy/redneck/country fun.
