So, how much for private lessons? I love the whole project but it would be hard for me visualize the finished product as I went along. I saw a wolf that I would love to do. Once tax time rolls around I plan on keeping an eye on Craigslist for a scroll saw and a sander!

Really amazing work. You have my respect and my thanks for letting us see the whole process.

How long did the entire process take from the drawing to the finished piece?

Sorry, I don't do private lessons. What I tell you here though, is all you need to know. I know CaptG had a good scrollsaw in his shop that he isn't using for anything. It needs a little work and a couple parts, but it is a top quality machine that is worth putting a few dollars into. Don't know if he has sold it or not yet.

This picture took a couple weeks to design and tweak, and then only about 8 weeks to build. That's probably 25 hrs per week, so about 200 hrs give or take.

Thanks for the great comments. Love it, or not..you can never please everyone all the time. I found her cheeks a little pudgy in the beginning myself, and it would be real easy for me to knock them down and smooth them out, but it's my opinion that she would lose some of her character if I was to do that. I wasn't interested in beauty queen. My daughters cheeks are still a bit pudgy as she is still growing into her face. I have grown to prefer her face as it is and so being the creator, I feel really good about the whole piece. Pretty rare too, that I am so happy with how something came out finished. Usually there is always something I wish I had done better.

Jeff, that is truly a work of art. I wish I would invest the time to learn that. Awesome is not adequate to describe your work. Hats off to you sir.

I just wish that I could afford something like that!!!

You made it look easy Jeff, but we all know that it took loads of skill, attention to detail and many hours of hard work. Well done Buddie:wink:
