A couple more knots

My family liked the pen that made it to the front page they asked me to make them some.

Liberty with black alder and black/red/black veneer. Purple dyed maple (I think) with the same veneer.

Le Roi long barrel, not sure what wood.

Yes, but I didn't dye it, it was a blank someone sent either in a PITH or when I won a quarter in a Super Bowl blank contest.

Very nice. I bought a set of Sharpies. They do good on wood like maple. Have to show some photos.

Ken, you are in part responsible for my need to make more of these. I think it would be fun to make the 8 sided one you've shown, but I have no doubt it would require me to make a bunch of them. 6 kids, four in-laws and a dozen grands...

They are fun. At the moment I'm trying my hand at a 6 sided one.

I would like to see that, 5 sided. I might have to model it and see what appears.

Nice job Steve. I have one in mind for when I get back in the shop this winter and start making pens for awhile again. I like the basic Knot like your best because it shows great detail when you start doing multiples they get run onto each other and yes it is a different look but to me too busy. With that said I probably will try one or two just to say I did one. Just another cross it off the bucket list thing. Just so many things I want to try before I pass on and I know that time is getting shorter with each day that goes by. Thanks for showing and I am sure they will make nice gifts.
