I'm casting some handles for scoops, pizza cutters etc. and have schedule 40 tubes 1 inch and 1 1/2 inch. The next size is 2 inch and if I used that I'd have a lot of wasted material. 1 3/4 id would be perfect. Does anyone know of a material that would be 1 3/4 id and hold up to Alumilite Clear Slow? I should add I'm casting stabilized wood. Thanks for your help.

I use empty caulking tubes , such as Dow 732 RTV sealant . They are about 1 13/16 . I use 1/8 hardboard as a base , 732`d to a short length of tube when needed . All of my casting is Alumilite Clear Slow , or its predecessor which isn`t quite so slow .

I treat them as disposables , and cut or turn them off . Never tried mold release .

Schedule 80 PVC has a thicker wall so the ID is slightly smaller - 2-inch has an ID of 1.9 inches vs the 2.047 of Schedule 40.

Optionally, you could turn a dowel (or dowels) to the dimension you want and then use some Alumilite Red Amazing Mold Maker to make your own Silicone Mold to be the exact dimensions you want.
