Hi pen makers.

Great see a lot of experience and useful information on this forum, I am sure I can learn lots.

My background - a few kit pens but mainly bespoke pens using ebonite. I sleeve pens with local rare timbers as well as full ebonite. I stabilise blanks and cast epoxy as required. I have both a wood and a metal lathe. I have a fully equipped home workshop. I also make bespoke jewellery boxes and Single Malt Whisky, neutral spirit at 96% for use shellac and gin........ too many options, I just need to retire one day to have the time ...

Cheers Rob

Welcome Rob,

I love Tassie, done a few locum stints at Mersey, Latrobe. You live in a beautiful state my friend. I have had the joy of working with Black Heart Sassafras, Huon Pine, Black Wood, Celery Top Pine, Myrtle ( including Tiger Myrtle). Love the Tassie timbers. I live in WA, Kalgoorlie. You will find this an excellent forum, I too learn so much from here, and lovely people. Looking forward to seeing some of your work.

Cheers,
Sean

When you retire, you will wonder when you had time to work. AMHIK

Welcome Bob! Please post some pictures of your pens and pen boxes. I would love to see your designs and especially the local woods you use.
