Hi, all. I've been a woodworker for years but never dabbled in turning of any kind. My brother-in-law got me started by showing me how to turn duck calls. Then I tried a few bowls and now a couple of pens. Well, I can see how lathe work can be pretty addicting.

I am looking forward to learning from you all and sharing back.

Welcome !
Fair warning as it was told to me years ago.
Once you start turning you will give up on other woodworking projects. Turning is an addiction. Welcome to the addiction.

Welcome Brian

Unlike those slightly cynical views above 🤔….

Its not an addiction it's therapy 😜, you don't have to be tool mad but it sure helps

have fun

Brian,

Welcome from the Abilene area. If you haven't heard of them yet, there are 4+ woodturning clubs in the Metroplex. If you go to WoodworldTx (behind TI), they can tell you which club is closest to you. I heartily recommend them. I drive to Ft Worth to attend club meetings when I can.
