...how events can lead to a new tool. Last Saturday, the belt on my Delta Midi broke and I told my wife that on Sunday, after church, we needed to stop at the WoodCraft store to pick up a belt and then we would go to lunch.

Went to WoodCraft, asked for the belt, and while David (salesman) was getting the belt, I began looking at the new Delta VS lathe. She asked if I needed a new lathe and my reply was, not necessarily a "need" but certaintly a "want". She, "well, do you want it?" Me, "Don't need it, but would be a nice addition to my shop". She, "Please buy the lathe so we can go to lunch, I"m hungry". David (salesman) walked up and she, "please sell him the lathe so we can go to lunch". Me, "I can't argue with her logic", and bought the lathe. She even bought lunch.

You never know....

Nice Wife there! Take care of that one!

Congrats on the new lathe...

Now if your old one is in search of a nice new home to give it lots of love, attention and plenty of time for play I know just the place... Oh and if she is missing a belt still thats ok, doesnt make her any less of a great one in my mind..

:)

You will be asked is she has sisters -- My wife encourages me to get such things and it does not seem likely that I could draw a better one out of the pond - parked a big lathe in the garage this summer at her urging.

Based on that story, you have serious cause to dote on that woman!!!

Blessings and enjoy that new lathe -- I have been hearing good things about it.

My car-light stoped working few days ago. In the car store my wife did not say "Come on, just buy a new car, so we can go have lunch".

Strange.

I guess she wasn't hungry.

Would it be OK if I asked your wife out to lunch :)

I would pay and we would need to stop by Woodcraft. How about 2:00pm, would that work?

Congrats Bill you are a lucky man. I had trouble getting money for tools to work on cars, I'm a mechanic. My second is a total opposite. would almost rather me buy tools than pay for the house. you aught to see my tool box!
