Twice now in the last day I've been reminded that maybe this pen turning thing is an obsession. Just now, when I looked at the air-brushed thread and immediately wanted to apply that technique to a pen was the second time.
Yesterday, I was doing an interview with 2 of my co-workers, for an open position we have in my department. Shortly after I joined the interview late, I noticed that the lady had a really nice pen in her hand. Her hands were kind of covering it up and I kept wishing she'd move her hands or hold it in a way that I could see it better. She finally did and I was able to recognize the blank- one I have but haven't tried yet. And I think I probably even know who made it. I'd met a lady who does turning at a show, and she made pens exactly like this as far as the kit and blank choices. I'm hoping my co-workers paid a little more attention than I did to what the person was saying during her interview. I can contribute that she has good taste in pens and apparently appreciates one of a kind turned pens!
