The other day ,I dropped a drill bit on the floor and instead of laying down it stuck in the shavings ,I guess its time to clean up the shavings.
Also, everytime, I go out to turn, I am getting taller, and have to bend over to reach my lathe to turn.

So ,you know the shavings are too deep when?

So ,you know the shavings are too deep when?....

OSHA makes you put up a life preserver ring in case someone falls into the shavings and can't get out!

A lathe tool falls off the lathe into the shavings and you have to use a metal detector to find it!

You know they are too deep when, you step on them and something in them moves and to this day you still don't know what.

sawdust

Look at the good side. You didn't ding the bit!

I always thought you learned woodworking one step at a time. When the sawdust reached the first cellar step. Then when it reached the second cellar step, etc.

You know when your shavings are too deep when...

....sitting on the shavings puts you at a comfortable height for turning.

....you need a pitchfork to find your shop chair.

....the local paper mill offers a hefty sum for it.

You go to change the overhead light and find out it still working...

The local ski team wants to use your shop as an indoor training course. (Go USA)

You know the shavings are too deep when?....

Your wood shavings smell just like your under arm deodorant.
