Four days ago I finally made a pen for me.. Everyday work.. It was a atlas. It had a Beautiful piece of spalted Oak.. I found the branch on a local ranch. Last night my wife was really tired.. So I went to do the laundry.. I washed the pen.. Ink all over the place and all over the wood.. It is ruined.. I am so mad at myself. And that was the only piece that was that nice..[B)] Told my wife that I no longer do any laundry..

I can sympathize...I used to do that with cross pens in my uniforms. I could remember to take off nametags, ribbons, badges, and not empty the shirt pocket!!

By the way - I still do 90+ percent of the laundry as I am retired Navy and fairly picky about the way my clothes are taken care of (i.e. folded). My wife's background is music and this saves a lot of "song and dance".

LOL Yes I have washed my pens in the laundry. I am usually out on the road and I did it in Houston with 80% of my clothes in the washer. Not a good thing. But the BOW came out nice. however I had to replace a few shirts and socks. No ink on the pen itself. not sure how but.....

And like Tip there I do most of my laundry. Most of the time it is because I am out on the road and she just cant come out and do my laundry. I found that I do like doing it. Dont know why but... oh well somethings are wierd, like me.

I had to do the laundry three times with a pen in the load (bic pen the first two times, marks-a-lot the third) before my wife agreed that I shouldn't come near the washing machine...[}:)][:D][}:)]

Yep. First fountain pen I made I left in my shirt. Being a good husband decided to do the wash for my wife. She had a brand new white blouse in with that load. Let put it this way she was not a happy camper. My mistake was that I put all the clothes in the dryer with out looking. She now has to this day a brand new white and blue blouse.[B)]

JUst a trick I learned that you might try. Soak it in the cheapest hairspray you can find. I know it takes ink out of clothes, leaves a ring and that washes out Not so sure about wood, but it only costs a buck or so.
