I guess the antibiotics are working, I actually felt almost normal,(at least for me) for a few hours, I don't know how long it takes to get over Rocky Mountain Spotted Tick Fever, but it really can't get here soon enough. At least the weather was real nasty while I was sick, but today was beautiful steamy but beautiful,.My wife showed me the garden and it looks super. except for the mud holes. but we are going to have plenty of Corn, and Maters and jalapenos and pole beans and Okra, My My what a feast we's gwine ta have, Lord it feels good to feel good!!!!!

Wow Ken, is it just my impression or have you been getting up just to get knocked back down lately? Glad the worst is behind you. I don't know what Rocky Mountain Spotted Tick Fever is like either but it sounds like I should just be content with a description.
Hang in there buddy.

I'll tell you what, I was real lucky, My Dr. was smart enough to double check me, her initial diagnosis was Shingles, since it broke out on my right torso, but I told her about the tick bite, at least that's what I thought it was, I was wearing long pants and sitting down, apparently I scratched it off, with out knowing it, but there was a dark purple/black spot about the size of a dime with a red streak running across the back of my knee.
She didn't tell me what the blood tests were for, I assumed it was the routine liver panel and cholesterol and Diabetes stuff, I get that every 3 months any way, But she started me on an antibiotic and the stuff for shingles, and one hell of a sedative, 3mg xanax 3 times a day, I usually take 1 mg 2 times a day, that was on a Tuesday, Wednesday the school called and wanted me to babysit Thursday and Friday, So Money is Money and I have a great affection for the students and my senior instructor, Basically I just sat in the Office and drooled.
Friday afternoon the Dr called and said it was tick fever, keep taking the antibiotics, and stop the xanax I had no problem with that.
A week later my son in law to be said something to one of the machine tool students that I was getting behind on making the Woodchucks and he would help but he doesn't like my lathe or mill, so last Saturday two of them called and came over and knocked out the 12 pieces I had stock ready for.
Now my customers all have their tools, I'm on the mend and I hope I never get that again, Apparently it can get very bad, all I had was like a real bad flu, and some one put superglue in my joints all over my body, along with the worst headaches I ever remember, but thanks to a smart thinking Dr. I missed the worst of it.
I guess I'm a pretty luck old phart, not smart just lucky, it's good to be back, now I just have to try and keep doing it slowly, which is hard for me I like going full bore.

Daniel , this has been an insane year, one stupid thing after another since I cut my fingers up last July, I hope this ends the cycle.

Thanks. I just hope I can get off this Doxycycline, it's made me swell up like a toad, I should get Tuesdays lab results either this afternoon or tomorrow, I'm hoping for a negative, my Dr. said that since we caught it very early on that 3 weeks of the antibiotic should clear it. I hope so.

Ken, glad you are feeling all better, give us all a call when the veggies come in, we'll all meet in Leapwood for supper.....(not dinner, it's supper when you have a spread like that) :)

Hmmmmm... I wonder if there are any GERMS on this woodchuck I got today?
I'd like a day or two off, but not like that!!

Seriously, I appreciate that you worked with me while you were feeling so poorly. I got the new tool today, and will try to get the old one in the post in a day or so. Glad you're among the living again!!

Now I need to practice the off-center turning so I can turn a square handle for it!

Unless any ticks rode along, I think you're safe Michael

Ken, glad to hear you're doing better. RM spotted fever is nothing to play with and I'm glad they caught it early. Nasty stuff.

Stop talking about the garden, you're making me hungry.

Glad to hear you are feeling better. I bet those veggies would taste good grilled. I have a really nice grill. Received my tool yesterday in the mail, can hardly wait to put a handle on it and try it out.

OK buddy knock off the sick stuff and get back to work!!:) I hope that all of this nonsense is over for you now buddy. If you have any spare pills left send them my way, will ya:eek:. Maybe it would knock my pluresy down a notch or two. Try not to go full bore for at least two or three days huh? Take care and STAY WELL.
