Made my Avatar to show the real size of Australia compared with North America, about the same. Sometimes we post pics or stories about our Aussie timbers and I welcome any enquiries that may demistify this wonderfull country to you.
At this time I would thank those members who sell through the forum for the blanks I have bought from them. There seems to be a reticence with companies in the United States and some forum sellers to send to us. Your USPS is a marvellous system, cheap and efficient and with paypal so convenient.
UPS on the other hand has created so many problems and hidden costs I avoid using them.

I belong proudly also to the Aussie U Beaut forum that encompasses so many other skills with separate interests who buy from America. Unfortunately with the crash in America rebounding all over the world so badly our dollar has taken a dive so it is now quite expensive to use over your way for a while.

Mostly as a member of the IAP when I read forum contributions I Google a lot to see where the members come from all over the world, quite a geography lesson.

I am sure we Aussies express ourselves differently and many of your expressions and our convey different meanings but I have travelled a fair bit in The USA and really enjoyed my visits.

Have a top Xmas and a safe New Year everybody.
Regards Peter.

Peter,
From east Tennessee, let me return the holiday wishes, Have a very merry Christmas and safe and prosperous New Year.

BTW, in all the world, the one place I would choose to visit it it were possible would be Australia... I've done quite a bit of business in and through Australia back in the days when I was still working.

Thus far in my 15 or so years pounding the internet, I've never run across someone from Australia I didn't like. What's up with that?

Peter, thanks for the geography lesson. I never realized how close in size the two countries are. Like Chuck, I would like to visit Australia some day.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Peter, I spent 30 years in New Mexico working for the caterpillar dealer. BHP a mining firm from your country owned two big coal producing mines in my area. During that time I had the privlage of meeting and doing business with many of your people. Never met one I didn't like.

y'all Ozzies are so far away from us. I think I was told that it is like a 20 hour flight. No way I could sit on a plane that long. I would love to see the country but it looks like I'm gonna have to wait until the Continental Drift moves us closer together.

But I really love the woods y'all have....most of which are some kind of Eucalyptus.

Well I wish everyone, Ozzies, Canucks, Limeys and Yanks, a Merry Christmas and a healthy and prosperous New Year.

Thank you for the greeting Peter . And the same back to you and all our other U Beaut members . I have enjoyed communicating with Fred and sometimes Sam . I like your avatar too . Cheers !

Oz and NZ are on the top of my list of places to visit....can't do it until I can take the time to sail there! (Claustrophobia and long airplane flights not a good mix! about 1 1/2 hours is my limit) I frequently enjoy programs about Australia's people and wildlife (and had the opportunity to meet Steve Irwin before his unfortunate passing), always impressed with the folks I have met!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all of our friends, wherever they may be!

Having been in the Navy for 20 years I was able to visit Australia once. We stopped in Fremantle for roughly 2 weeks when I was on the USS Houston out of Guam.

Unfortunately I wasn't into pen making at the time or I would have picked up some timber or visited those of you that lived nearby.

Australia is a beautiful place and I would love to visit there again someday.

When I have some more money for shipping & such, I would love to arrange a timber swap with some of you guys.

Happy Holidays to everyone!!

Canada is part of N.A. but I think your your "size" statement is a bit off. Yes, size does matter to some of us.

Holiday Greetings to our Aussie friends and the rest of the IAP world.
