Brian Wilson's Wouldn't it be nice

Wouldn't it be nice if we were older?
Then we wouldn't have to wait so long
And wouldn't it be nice to live together
In the kind of world where we belong
You know its gonna make it that much better
When we can say goodnight and stay together
Wouldn't it be nice if we could wake up
In the morning when the day is new
And after having spent the day together
Hold each other close the whole night through
The happy times together we've been spending
I wish that every kiss was never ending...
Wouldn't it be nice?
Maybe if we think and wish and hope and pray... it might come true
Baby, then there wouldn't be a single thing we couldn't do...
We could be married and then we'd be happy,
Wouldn't it be nice?
You know it seems the more we talk about it
It only makes it worse to live without it
But let's talk about it...
Wouldn't it be nice?

Keep on Smilin' -- Grumpy and the Wet Willies ( google it:biggrin: )

Sound pretty appropriate to me:biggrin:

Blame it on the holiday "spirits" if you know what I mean, lol.

I'd blame it on the just the holidays, period. I think folks are so stressed out this time of year, that they tend to forget that "Christmas cheer". And it's not just here, it's everywhere. I'm quite tired of getting shoved out of the way in shopping aisles without so much as an "excuse me", and getting dirty looks from drivers who almost ran over me to get to that space that just opened up in the parking lot.

Sigh.

The older I get, the more cynical I feel about this time of the year. With the crass commercialization that seems more rampant every year, I think most of us have forgotten what the holidays are really supposed to be about (myself included, sometimes). IMHO, people should really take a moment to step back, take a deep breath, lighten up. And remember that when they talk or act a certain way towards others, they should think to themselves "Would I want someone to be this way to someone I loved?"

Sorry for the length, and sorry Skip if I hijacked your thread.

Isn't it just Wet Willie?

Grumpy and the Wet Willy's would be my mother-in-law, and the rest of the group, except my wife and niece, who both turned out different for some reason.

By the way Merry Christmas and Happy Chanukah

The other 51 weeks would be.............bad.

Some of the threads I have read lately seem to degenerate to the point where it is no longer a matter of right or wrong, it is a matter of winning or losing and someone decides that there is no way they are going to "lose" the issue. Yet everyone here seems to acknowledge that there are many "right" ways to do things. I just don't get it.

I feel just as happy and cheerful as usual Steve. I don't have anything to complain about too much anyhow..other than theater seats perhaps. I saw that new movie Avatar yesterday with my wife. The movie is pretty good, the theater seats need improvement as always..it's really tough sitting for 2.5 hours in a cramped location. But, like I said, life is good and I'm having a great time with it!

All this snow we just got, a nice fire roaring away in the fireplace, kids away for the weekend, this is actually a nice weekend. :)

I have a moon moving into some planet's orbit with my aura declining and the house of the sun locked its door or something every December. I'm always grumpy. I always have bad crap happen. Things don't get better until June usually.

So if I bite your head off for asking how I'm doing, that's why.

And I pretty much expect the same from everybody else.

Did I mention I work in a church? Grace? Whassat?

LOL!

Maybe next week. This week with my wife saying I need to take her to finish christmas shopping about the only thing I feel like saying is" bah humbug". Well since I've got two christmas presents to finish making and an order for four pens that is being picked up day after tomorrow maybe I will head out to the shop. Going to the shop will put me in a better mood until I have to come out to do the dreaded christmas shopping.
