Worthless Wood Casting

I have some "worthless wood" that I would like to try and cast. I have not ventured into the casting world yet, so I'm in need of some pretty detailed help. Is this done in the same manner as pouring PR casts, or do I need a pressure pot?

Could you do these WW casts with anything other Alumilite? PR or Epoxy etc?

As its very expensive to get Alumilite over in the UK! haha
