Worth getting?

I seen this while walking to the park earlier.
It has been topped and is being used to hold a satellite dish. Would it be worth asking about? I thought of offering to cut it down, since it looks dead anyway,and put a pole in and mount their dish on it for them.
Is it worth bothering with?

If you can get it, then I would get it. You never know how punky it is, or what the inside is like, but that is most of the fun anyway.

If you know how to cut it then go for it. If you don't, and don't have a good length bar on your chain saw, then don't.

Looks like a lot of bowls and pens to me. Even if it's punky, you can still worthless wood cast it. Or sell Karl the wood.

Your profile doesn't say where you live so I and amybe others don't know where to come help you get it down.

I vote that you definitely at least ask about getting it down. A little hint about them having to put their dish on a pole somewhere in the near future may give them the incentive especially since you state you would put the pole up for them.
