Listening to the news last night, Linda said that the sports caster must be lying. "Cubs win 11 in a row". She then asked isn't that more than they usually win in a season?[:0]

Correction, They won 11 in a row at Wrigley field.
They lost one or two games last week IIRC.
I'm a lifetime Cubs fan that used to live on the South Side (that was rough)[B)]
Hopefully this is the year, it's only been a 100 years since the last time.[:p][:p]

My mother could win 11 in a row at home against the Braves. They are pathetic.

The Braves are pretty good at home this year, but I think with the most recent folks headed to the DL, we are done for the rest of the year. The Atlanta paper just showed that 60.2 million of our 112 million in salary this year is sitting on the pine. You will start to see some excellent young people coming up through our system play out the rest of the year.

...only to see half of them traded for broken-down has-beens or unsignable free agents in the offseason...

Sure wish I could make money like these over paid players get. I can't even think about supporting professional sports with the price they put on everything. $6.50 for a beer - they can keep it! Besides that, it is far cheaper to watch them on TV. At least I can then change the channel if the game is miserable. :)
