I have seen one or two you-tube folks set one up. There were some issues that required some
easy fixes and the unit exhausted outside of the shop.

The guy had it setup in a connex workshop and it seemed to provide good heat for the money.

search for They banned my super cheap heating! by band - in England

the h/w will run on kerosene or diesel

There is an exhaust pipe and a hot air outler pipe; the heater doesnt have to be inside the shop it can be attached on the wall and the air outlet pipe can go in the shop.

Yea i ve seen it, very informative video indeed.
 
Have seen tons of videos on them, mainly used for Overlanding (camping). They heat up a small space, like a tent. The Vevor brand seems to be the best seller

I've thought it might be nice to have the shed become solar. I need to look into the requirements i would need for load. I'm sure that southern North Carolina is a good spot for it. I would not only to have my shop tools and lights run from the system, but also a mini-split. It might be the mini-split is the deal killer.

I could potentially run a circuit from the house out to the shed, but if I'm going to do that mins as well just run everything from that.

What do you mean by oil fired furnace? Does it have an exhaust? Does it heat water or just hot air?

It depends upon the solar potential at your area. Keep in mind that the cheapest option is the mains grid this could be a backup. Yea mini splits look nice, too bad i cannot find such machines in greece yet
 
I have one that I run off a marine battery that I keep a battery tender hooked up to. It will run a long time off a fully charged marine battery. I also use a kerosene torpedo heater to heat my shop up quickly and one of these as a supplement. My torpedo heater still runs but not as much once everything gets heated up. Mine isn't a Vevor but it is essentially the same heater
