Went to a woodworking show today and at the show there were some turning groups as well as Crafts Supplies USA. They had lathes set up and let us average joes make pens. Thought that was pretty cool. Also saw Barry Gross who was making some of his pens for demos. Talked to him for awhile and he was showing me some of his pens and have to say this guy is good. Very good. He is having fun lately with making or casting pen blanks with decals. They look really cool. Interesting to find out he doesn't use micromesh for finishing. He uses the pads and only goes to 4ooo. Tell you they shine as silk. He told me he has to really make sure they have flawless finishes because the shows he goes to the pen people are top rated and they inspect his pens before they buy. Pretty interesting day to say the least.
