Ugh...I'm covered in sweat AND sawdust.

It's like 90 degrees in the shop today and going to get even hotter this weekend.

Looks like the Pennsylvania 'haze' is here for a while. On the upside, I think I lost 42 pounds today.

I think I'll go jump in the creek! [8D]

Just make sure you take your paddle.

It was 92 here today until a huge storm blew through about an hour ago. Half of our maple tree blew down and barely missed my truck.
Limbs down everywhere.

Free wood's nice as long as it doesn't end up costing anything, right? :D[B)]

It's HOT in Indiana too , man ! It looks like we're in for another blistering summer . Well , I wanted summer to get here . IT IS !!!
Did I spell evry thing rite ?? [)]

Awww quit yer griping :)... you should be here on the Washington coast...my weather station shows the high today was 49 low was 48 Wind gust 30 mph avg 10 mph .31 inches of rain....we haven't had a day over 60 yet this month..[:0]

Well, since it's 95 in FL and 49 in WA, it figures that somewhere in between, it's gotta be perfect.

Karl, just keep selling those wonderful blanks and buy you an AC!
It's gonna be 98 here today but it's gonna be 74 in the shop. Ahhh, life is good.:D(sorry, couldn't resist[}:)][}:)])

That's our normal SPRING temps, and we have several days like that in the winter here in Houston. It has been around or over 90 for many days and I know the 100's are right around the corner! My work takes me into the fabricating shop for extended periods of time (read this to mean a big metal un-insulated shop building with little to no fans and 40+ welders and fitters heating, burning shaping and welding metal) so 90+ in my wood shop almost feels cool!! You should come down and try it out for a while we we get in the 100's, and no there is no A/C in the shop!

Athens, GA which is only 20 miles north of here hit 101 to set a new record yesterday. I was up in the attic running a new electric line for the new airconditioner unit. I had to have bags of ice in my shirt to stay up there for 20 minutes at a time....I lost about 25 pounds yesterday....hoping to get a little cooler!

"Official" temp here this weekend was
Fri 99
Sat 100, Although the store thermometer said 105 Saturday
Sun 101
Today supposed to be 102.

Just too hot to be in the shop. Hopefully back to lower 90's by Wednesday or Thursday.

Like Ron, my shop is in the basement and stays pretty cool without any help. I did have to crawl under the truck yesterday and get the front brake lines off, very hot and sweaty job trying to remove 40 year old rusted lines.

Temp was right around 100 yesterday (The High was 39 in 1977)

Did I NEED that picture in my head?[xx(][xx(][xx(]

I'm just to the south of Karl and can vouch for the ridiculous temps...my shop's in the basement and the coolest room in the house...a balmy 70-72:D.

"...w......wat..er...water..."

*crawls through the pine cone and resin dust desert, spies a half buried beer can*

"...beer....bee..rrrr...."

This heat is really getting out of hand, but thank God the weather service finally posted an excessive heat advisory, because I hadn't noticed that my band saw had melted to the ground a couple of hours ago. heh :):D

We've got 101 today & 103 deg. tomorrow. But that's not too bad. Irac all week 122High 95Low- all week. Gotta look on the brighter side sometime/somehow. I saw that temp. in 1965 when stationed in Ft. Irwin, Calif. near Death Valley. You've gotta shade your eyes, the heat burns them.:(

I'm betting you're having problems getting the resin into the mold before it can cure. [:p]

Nah, I just learned to work in quarter-drops. Per gallon.

A couple more degrees and I'll just wave the MEKP over the 5-gallon bucket and say the super-secret-magic word, which I typically concatenate onto "HOLY-"

Back to gasping and cutting for me...[xx(][:p]

Here in East TN we got up to about 97 around noon or 1 pm... I was out trying and the operative word was trying to help a friend cut up a 51 inch oak that they had felled in the front ward... had a few burls and such... ruined one chain saw Thursday, bought a new one Friday and went back today.. I'm getting too old for all that kind of work... actual expression I used is "I'm getting to old for this S---".. but nice thing was right after we got home, had a rain storm blow in complete with nickle and quarter size hail... cooled down nicely (For a while)... too tired to work in the shop, but wasn't much over 95 in there... a little 12x24 all metal, uninsulated building that fortunately sits under two big shade trees.

Rob,
I remember Houston weather well... first year I was back there from Bay Area in CA, winter was on Feb 16, from 0600 until just past noon.. it was 16 degrees when I left for work at about 0700 and by noon was back to 65.. not another cold day that year, 1980... Fun part about Houston weather is the humidity is usually higher than the temperature, until the temp reaches 100. My plant was a 65,000 concrete tip up warehouse.. few fans, plus we had a 30,000 all metal "crane bay" - no fans and another 11 acres of concrete yard.. 12" of concrete - no shade... I tried to not venture outside the office but about once a week.

Ahhhh...made it through the worst. It's a frigid 85 outside now, and the shop is almost bearable again. I've been in there all day drinking a couple gallons of water, but I think I'm going to pull a third shift and get caught up on some stuff.

I never thought I'd appreciate 85 degrees. I need to find a sweater...heh :)

I drank a gallon of water yesterday, also. Just to be on the safe side, I put a quart of scotch in it... :D

The weather prognosticators lied again, we were supposed to get some rain yesterday, although it did cool from 93 down to 84 in about 30 minutes, nothing dropped from the sky, except a buzzard the croaked from heat prostitution I mean prostration.
I tried helping my wife mow, but with a second and third degree burn on the bottom of my arm the sweat wasn't feeling too good.
I had to polish some jewelry we were sending out and inside of my shop, WITH AC was still 90 stupid green metal roof.... I can't catch a break between blood pressure, burned arm and heat, I may never get to turn a pen again. :(:(:(
