That's pretty interesting. I don't know if he will win the case. It's going to be pretty hard to fight the NFL, as they have plenty of money. Hopefully he doesn't go broke fighting them.

While not a fan of lawsuits, I think they have a legitimate beef with him.
I'm not a football fan but I recognised it as a copy of the Lombardi trophy. I'm sure they sent him a letter first to stop which he probably ignored.
All he has to do is change his design a little.

not a copy

Personally I think it is obviously NOT a knockoff of the Lombardi trophy. Any football fan could see from across the street that it is not a Lombardi Trophy which is made entirely from Sterling silver and is silver in color. I don't see how something made of wood, brown in color and with a base that is barely the same shape as the VL Trophy could be considered a knock off.

I see Pewter trophies on eBay called Lombardi Style Trophies that are actually made to look somewhat like the Lombardi Trophy being sold with no NFL acknowledgement, and stating no NFL authority....But even those without the high polish don't really look like it.

In the article he did say he made changes to it so that it wouldn't look the same. I believe he even changed the angle of the ball among other things.

Me personally I would never try to take on the NFL or any large corporation with a lot more money then me regardless if I was in the right or not. To me it's just not worth it.
