Based on taking a new job with a new company, I will find myself spending a significant amount of time in Northern Ireland. I will specifically be in the Kilkeel / Newcastle area. I could be spending a weekend or two along the way and was wondering if anyone had any advice or tips on things to do (or even if there was a place to secure any exotic wood etc) in regards to woodturning.

Thanks!

Don`t know much about N.Ireland except the Guiness is lovely and cold and there is lots of it!
Best thing to do is get a hold of the local Yellow Pages for looking up wood suppliers etc.
Here is a link that may get you started:

Here is a company I found when I was doing a search to get some wood from Ireland. They don't ship international but they do sell blanks.

Ps: From the lack success I had in finding a steady source of wood from Ireland you might want to load your suitcases with as much wood as you can carry.[:D]
