I finally got one of these tools made by Ken Ferrell. I didn't find a single blank big enough so, I took two 3/4 x 8" pieces of Elm I had laying around and, glued them together. 8" was too long to drill on the lathe or my drill press so, I had to shorten it to seven inches. Four coats of polyurethane.

Can't wait to use it.

Chuck, there is something seriously wrong with that PenPro you have there. It is clean! Do not starve it so. Feed the baby some wood and let it eat. You will be so happy with that great toy. I know I am with my bowlpro that I got form Ken. Congratulations on a fine tool and a great looking handle. Now, get into the shop and make some shavings. Show the results.

Family site, had to refrain from posting what I wanted to.

Ok the handle looks great I have to admit. Now tell us what you think of the tool once you get to try it out.

BTW, you were the topic of a couple of conversations. Please drop us a line when you have to return to the fridgid noth. Some of us would like to get together. :)

ROTFL.....I am glad this IS a family site! Thanks, I am glad you approve of the handle. It IS my first tool handle and, it feels comfy to hold. Should work out pretty well. I'll use it tomorrow and, make a report.

I will surely let you all know when we will be coming back to the frozen tundra. Will be good to see you all again, and, Linda for the first time and, hopefully not the last.
