Does anyone here use a wood burner to put a design on wooden pen blanks? I want to buy a good wood burner. I am having trouble finding any thing in my area.
Wifey has both a Razortip and the BurnMaster Eagle units. Both are nice burners but she says the Razortip would give better results for pen pyrography as it has finer control over the lower heat range. The Eagle is well suited for the branding style of burning.
Selection of burning pens or just the interchangeable tips is important to get the look you are envisioning.
I have an Optima dual pen burner. Colwood and RazrTip also have a good reputation among pyro-engravers. I haven't hand-engraved any pen barrels, but I did make the "ostrich feather" on the end of this desk pen by burning, piercing and airbrushing some maple veneer.
