Wood type

I have what I have been told is hackberry. The wood is as white as a sheet of paper with very straight grain.
What searches I have found show the wood to be a tan color. Can anyone better describe or provide a picture of a hackberry log? Is it any good for pen blanks?

I have done quite a bit of Hackberry a/k/a Sugarberry and other names. Most is not pure white but off-white. You may have Holly.
If you have either, they are both excellent turning woods. Do use. Hackberry, by itself, does not have a real interesting grain. But it takes a great finish and often shows amazing chatoyance. You completed pen, or other project, can have a special beauty all its own.
