A temporary contractor at my job had a truck load of this wood already split. He said he brought it from Mexico and uses it to fire a wood stove. The material is extremely hard and stinks when freshly split. He gave me a couple of split pieces to play with. I am trying to find this guy so I can get a few whole logs next time he makes the trip. Any ideas of what kind of wood it is? I am not a photographer so please bare with me on the pics.

Stinks eh, is it a good stink or a bad stink? I'll guess desert ironwood. Check out the post in individual classified too for a piece of desert ironwood for sale and compare bark and wood.

Ok, It does match the post in the classified section. Thanks for the help. I sure would like to find this fella again and maybe obtain a few more logs for larger projects. Thanks again.
