I was given 3 different species of wood today by a pastor friend can`t seem to find anything on them. Can anyone help? Oh, it might help to give the names I have, Osoman, ofram, and kaku. Thanks in advance for your help. Perry
Perry,
I know a bit about ofram (limba). You have white and black. White has light brownish graining, almost like pieces of hay in the whitish wood and black limba is like a lighter version of zebrawood (visually). They're both light and somewhat soft.

Azobe is used extensively in the transit industry for rail ties that secure switchgear and special trackwork. The wood is extremely dense and extremely heavy. It is nearly impervious to rot and insects. I work in the transit industry and don't know of other uses or info. I have some cut off scraps at home that I've been meaning to turn but I've been a little afraid of it. The crews that install it struggle to cut it with a sharp chain saw.
