It's too dark for mac, but it looks like some wood that I got from woodcraft three years ago, which they called lacewood. I know that leopardwood is somewhat similar, but I've never seen it in person. Mac is more pink.

Beefwood, and again I say Beefwood if you find that it is dirty dusty mongrel stuff to turn.
This is a great example of why scientific names are so so helpful. This sample is probably Grevillia Striata due to it's deep colour.
Grevillia Parallela is also known as Beefwood.

Can't help you on the wood, but since I have a terminal case of CRS, I have to write on every piece of wood I have what it is, otherwise if I take my hand off of it, the name goes away.[][] Frustrating!! And since I've just started this the last couple of years, I also have lots of "No Idea Wood" laying around too.
