I have another idea running around in my head. Can wood glue such as tite bond be mixed with a coloring additive such as embossing powder to do fill work on burls and such so that I would have a longer working time.
Thanks in advance, Mark

Mark,
I can't say definitely yes, but from my working with wood glue, I really can't see why it wouldn't work. I know you can mix paint and such with epoxy and it still works...

Can I pose a question on your thread... my wood glue froze in my shop the other day... do you think it will still work, or did I lose a pint of wood glue.

Mark keep in mind it has to be waterbase. Wood glue dose not like oils give it a try on a scrap pice and see what it dose I think it will dry to hard and brittle but thats just my thought.

I would think a two part epoxy would be better than wood glue. The epoxy is somewhat clear. I have tried it with fine pink sand and it worked OK, but was a mess to try and put on.

I have mixed dyes in with Gorilla glue with fair results. It does slow down the setting of the glue and it made it slightly more flexible. I use this combo when gluing tubes in cast blanks. Never had one fail yet and the dye does make the tube almost impossible to see. I use the same dyes that Alumilite sells. One drop goes a long ways. Best to try a small sample and see how it works.

I experimented with it some...titebond2 w/ waterbased dye....it absorbed alot of glue and was very brittle when I went to turn it. It could be too much dye because I was trying for a deep color. I did better w/ epoxy but still not right.
