Not very often I can gloat over a log. I'm picking up this Sassafrass log tonight. The guy said it was cut about a year ago and has been in his garage. Now I just have to figure the best way to cut it up to fit in my Suburban.

Forgot to say it's free.

Ohhhh....that will look NICE! Too bad you won't have any use for it. I'll send you $20 to cover the shipping and you can send it to me.

I would suggest you use a chainsaw, A handsaw would take too long [:0]

Nice score!

Nice gloat Manny!

Jim, $20.00 for shipping? That won't be enough to ship all the bark if Monty can strip them! LOL [}:)]

Sure thought it made the Suburban smell good on the way home, although the wife's not too sure about it.
Here's what it looks like after I cut off the short branches.

Anchored sealed the fresh cut ends, MC was anywhere from 15-30%.
Hopefully I'll be able to get a coupla bowls out of the main piece. I know I'll have a lot of pen blanks.
