Wood Gloat; weird find.

A friend of mine saw this fall off a truck a few days back and picked it up for me. Is it me or does it look like a huge pig's head?

<br />Nope. Looks more like a badger, probably one of those "man-eating" badgers the Brits turned loose in Iraq.[:D]

I'm not sure why I found that funny, ( but I did )as I have no idea what you mean[:D][}:)] It looks like a cross between a fox and a pig to me[:I]

We get real badgers in our garden almost every night. At first it was a novelty, but they wreck your garden and there isn't a bin they can't turn over. I came face to face with one a couple of months ago and I don't know who was more scared, me or the badger. I know I nearly crapped myself. They are extremely fierce when cornered[^]

Steven, I can't believe you haven't heard about this. I read about it on the BBC website. Honey Badgers, which are native to southern Iraq, have sort of starting invading Basra, due to flooding apparently. Some of the locals have accused the British troops of releasing "man-eating" badgers in Basra. One guy even claimed he watched one kill his cow.[:0] I think they must be smoking hashish.[:D]

ARTHUR:
What happens now?
BEDEVERE:
Well, now, uh, Launcelot, Galahad, and I, uh, wait until nightfall, and then leap out of the rabbit, taking the French, uh, by surprise. Not only by surprise, but totally unarmed!
ARTHUR:
Who leaps out?
BEDEVERE:
U-- u-- uh, Launcelot, Galahad, and I, uh, leap out of the rabbit, uh, and uh...
ARTHUR:
Ohh.
BEDEVERE:
Oh. Um, l-- look, i-- i-- if we built this large wooden badger--
[clank]
[twong]
ARTHUR:
Run away!
KNIGHTS:
Run away! Run away! Run away! Run away! Run away! Run away! Run away!

I am sorry but I just couldn't resist. ROTFLMAO

Not often you get quotes from Monty Phyton on the IAP, very funny.

Steven, i will have to pay your garden a visit, my other hobby is wildlife photography, always wanted to get a badger[;)]

As for the wood i will go along with badger or even wild boar, watch it doesn't bite you when you butcher it.[:)]

Eugene,

That is Mesquite my friend. At least that is what it looks like from both pics. I would almost guarantee you it is not Live Oak. Wrong bark and wrong color of the wood.
