My boss is retiring in a month and I was going to turn him some pens as a gift. He was originally located near Valley Forge PA, where I still am located. He is not in Williamsburg, VA. Over the course of my career, I had the opportunity to work 5 years in Scotland with a subsidiary company that he had started.
I would like to do some pens that use woods from these locations. The PA wood is easy. I have some good curly maple as well as some really nice Cherry. But I am at a loss for the Virginia wood and especially the Scotland wood.
Any suggestions? I was thinking of cheating on the Scotland wood and trying to get some Irish Bog Oak. For Virginia, I thought about some Walnut, but that is too common.
Thanks
