Woo Hoo.... I'm an international player now! :D

Last week I got an inquiry about some of my pens on my website from an individual in Hong Kong. I didn't think too much of it since they picked most of my high end pens and wanted to switch all of them to fountain pens, including two 18k nibs then wanted one custom configuration. I responded with exactly what I would do and gave them exact prices and shipping. The next day I get a Paypal notice that an "E-check" was pending authorization then this morning, four days later, I have the funds in my account.

The good thing is that I wasn't charged the normal 3% Paypal fee because they used the E-check instead of a credit card.

So today I'm tickled pink, my highest priced pens to date were sold, my highest combined total sale to date and an international order all at once! Those who say websites aren't worth the trouble, please reconsider. I never saw this coming! :)

Boy, this wine tastes much better than it did yesterday!:)

I guess what prompted me to post, besides letting everyone know I'm an international player now :D was a thread I read several weeks ago where someone asked about the value of a website and if memory serves, the majority of respondents were negative, several implying it was nothing more than a waste of time. Well, I beg to differ, I did four craft shows last year and this one sale exceeded all four shows combined... with no booth fees and standing on my feet for probably 70 hours total!:)

This is of course just another opinion... from an international player (whos had a few glasses of wine[:0])[:p]

Way to go George. They probably just want to copy your design. Next week they will be mass producing them and selling counterfeit Georges on the streets of New York. Stop drinking and hire a trademark lawyer.:)

Congrats! Sounds like you set things up well with options for the buyer. Your sale is an inspiration - maybe I'll get around to setting up the website I paid for last year.

Congrats George!!! There are lots more folks in HK, keep a goin'!!![8D]

But hey don't stop doing shows. Think of all of the fun you will miss! Setting up at 5 am, the sun, wind, rain, dust, booth fees, gas, sitting there for hours on end, then the tear down and lugging everything home .... well nevermind, forget I said that! [B)]
