Hello everyone !

I am back .... my computer-master fixed the problem that storm did to my computer 3 days ago. And that was long time....

Could not check the news and emails; not able to pay bills; no XXX sites :(
no miniclip games and checking this great site for new pens you have made.

Are you guys (and girls) the same or is it just me ?
But I find internet so, so great and helpful thing.

George, I have been addicted to the internet since the late '70's, long before there was a World Wide Web. When my computer or internet goes down, I always have a mini-panic. It is probably not good to be so dependent on any device, but it is difficult to make it thru the day without access....

Wendell, what was the internet back then ? What it could do ? Similar like today or much less ?

George I would compare the 'old' Internet to 'todays' Internet something like this ... First off, nothing of today compares to 'back then', and to compare today to back then try ... Rubbing sticks together to make fire vs Nuclear Power ... but, hey, that's just me! (And yes I have been around since way before the computer was made available to folks.)

I can't wait to see what's coming. If the government would turn loose some of it's latest gadgets you would all be astounded as to what there is waiting for us all! Star Trek really is not too far off the mark in many things.

Back then it was mostly a bulletin board network... like a chat room... I think it actually started as a college network.
My son grew on the internet and today is a manager for a division of IBM... he's made lots of money off the internet... before Napster got in trouble, he wrote a Metacrawler (whatever that is) that searched for music... he wound up selling the site for some really really big dollars... he was about 27 at the time.
