Hi All,
I go in for double hernia surgery Tuesday the 30th. One on each side. Actually, these are number 4 and 5 for me. Main diff this time, is he is going to fix them both with Laproscopic surgery. Should be out in a couple of hours. Hope to be back to work in a long week. Managed to do this and only use a few of my days off. With the holiday, and the fact that I already had a couple days off because of comp time. I can take 8 or 9 days off and not have it hurt too bad at all. This city job is the bomb.:wink:
So wish me luck and if you like pray. Although I don't foresee any complications, they are small and I am in pretty good shape. Probably will have a lot of computer time for the first few days though. So I'll see ya then. And thanks. :):)

keeping you in my prayers. Had a hernia about 6 years ago fixed via laproscopic. It is amazing what they can do through the tiny opening.

Good luck! Laproscopy is a marvelous thing. The only problem is that you don't have looooong scars that you can turn into interesting tattoos!

Good luck steve, I just went through the hospital thing with my knee. Theres nothing I hate worse. It came out ok and I'm sure it will for you too. Get well as quick as is safe for you to do so.

Steve,

Dude, are you lifting 2 100 pound sacks of flour around the house? Lift with your back, bro! Seriously, 4 or 5 is enough, you need a desk job. Hey, I got all my parts today for my new pot based on your tutorial. Tomorrow, I have a date with a half mile of Teflon tape and a few wrenches. I can't wait...

I had my gall bladder out last year, so I'll be thinking about you. Mine was lapro too, easy peasy. If you get to stay overnight, at least you get to eat what you want. Our new Hospital in town is actually one of the best restaurant's in town also, and I was on a low-fat diet after they hauled by gall bladder out so I got only boring stuff. Have a nice steak on us!

Sending affirmative thoughts,
Dale

Best of luck.. don't push the recovery. Things can wait.
And have him sew in a few steel bands while he's in there.
4 or 5?? wow..

Best wishes Steve. I had it on one side several years ago and it wasn't too bad. Look on the bright side, at least you wont have to lift anything heavier than a can of beer around the house for a week or so.

Good Luck Steve, Have a friend at work that went through this. He was mobile after just a couple of days. It was about 30 days before he felt he was completely back to normal.
You should feel good enough to get back in the shop long before any 30 days.

Here's wishing you the least pain and speedy recovery.

You better take care...I thought you would before you have to do it the 5th time!!!:biggrin:

Thanks all. The first 3 where when I was 6, 12 and 26 years old. So 4 and 5 are over due I suppose. It's just something I've always had a problem with. Week lower ab muscles I guess. I do ab work 2 or 3 times a week. Guess it's too little too late. Hopefully this will be the last time. Maybe if it happens again, it'll be like Star Trec and they will just wave a tricorder over me and fix it.:biggrin:

Well feller, the bad part's over with now. Just take it easy for awhile. How ya feeling? Don't go trying to chase the LOML around the place just yet. Just kick back & read the forum & dream of what the next fancy pen is gonna look like. Good luck & fast recovery.
